Guardiola Jabs United Over Champions League Celebration

Pep Guardiola has taken a swipe at Manchester United over the club’s celebrations after securing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

United confirmed their return to Europe’s top competition after defeating Liverpool 2-1 last Sunday, guaranteeing a top-five finish in the Premier League.

The result marked a significant achievement for the Red Devils, who did not compete in European competitions this season.

Speaking after Manchester City secured Champions League qualification with several games remaining, Guardiola suggested City had achieved the feat with less drama.

“We are in the FA Cup final and Champions League qualification four or five fixtures before,” Guardiola said.

“Look how happy Manchester United are after they qualified in the last game.”

The City manager also referenced United’s victory over Liverpool, noting the importance of the point secured in the race for European qualification.

Guardiola’s comments add another chapter to the long-standing rivalry between the two Manchester clubs as both sides prepare to finish the season on contrasting trajectories.
