Nigerian Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold has described his wife, Simisola Kososko, as the best songwriter in the Nigerian music industry.
Speaking during a recent interview with Angela Yee, Adekunle Gold said Simi possesses a rare songwriting ability that sets her apart from other artists he has worked with.
According to him, the singer is capable of creating multiple songs from a single instrumental track, a skill he described as exceptional.
“Nobody writes songs like Simi. I have never seen somebody write about 10 songs on one beat before,” he said.
The singer explained that while many artists record what feels right at the moment, Simi often develops several versions of songs before selecting the final release.
“She has written too many songs on one beat, and most times it is maybe the fifth one that would be released,” he added.
Adekunle Gold also revealed that Duduke, one of Simi’s popular songs, had multiple versions before the final track was released.
The couple, both prominent figures in Nigeria’s music industry, have collaborated on several songs and performances over the years.
