Jigawa Police Arrest 10 Suspects In Multi-Crime Operations

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested ten suspects in coordinated operations targeting armed robbery, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities across the state.

Police spokesperson Shi’isu Adam said the simultaneous operations led to the capture of one wanted armed robbery suspect and nine others involved in various crimes. Authorities also seized 7,028 illicit drugs, including rubber solution, “suck and die,” and dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Seven of those arrested were identified as suspected drug dealers and users: Nadabo Ibrahim (25) of Kwanar Garki; Alkassaim Sa’idu (27) of Acauya village, Sule Tankarkar LGA; Ibrahim Sambo (22) of Bitinariya Quarters, Hadejia LGA; Usman Abubakar (30) and Aminu Muhd (25) of Dunari Quarters; Yusuf Sale (22) of Nassarawa Quarters; and Ibrahim Ismail (23) of Marakawa Quarters, Ringim LGA.

In Hadejia, police from B Division recovered a white Jincheng motorcycle previously reported stolen from a residence in Rinde Quarters. The motorcycle has been returned to its owner on bond, while investigations continue to identify the suspects behind the theft.

Adam also reported that operatives from Malam-Madori Division recovered two cows abandoned by rustlers near Dunari Quarters. Efforts are ongoing to trace the rightful owners and apprehend those responsible for cattle rustling.

In a separate development, Shu’aibu Musa, a wanted armed robbery suspect, was arrested in connection with a stolen camel. The animal was recovered, and Musa has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for further investigation and prosecution.

The police also arrested Abdullahi Isyaku (20) and Nasir Saleh (30) in Sundimina town over the theft and sale of mobile phones. The suspects stole an Infinix Smart 10, a Tecno Camon 19, an Itel keypad phone, and N20,000 cash, which were sold for N61,000. They have been arraigned in court.

Adam emphasized that public cooperation and timely information remain crucial in combating crime and urged residents to continue assisting law enforcement agencies.

The operations demonstrate the police’s ongoing commitment to curbing crime and protecting lives and property across Jigawa State.
