Kuwait has introduced temporary restrictions on recreational activities and fixed food prices as precautionary measures amid ongoing regional developments, authorities announced.
The Ministry of Interior said recreational boats and yachts are banned from entering the sea until further notice. Officials described the step as preventive, aimed at safeguarding public safety in light of current circumstances.
The ministry also urged residents to postpone desert camping trips and avoid organising public gatherings outside the home, including traditional events. Authorities stressed that the measures are temporary and will remain in place while developments are monitored.
In a statement, officials said relevant agencies are tracking the situation closely and called on the public to rely on information from official sources.
Separately, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued Ministerial Decision No. 21 of 2026, effective March 1, fixing the prices of all food commodities for one month.
The ministry said prices in effect before February 28 will serve as the maximum allowable prices during the period. It warned that violations of the decision will result in penalties under existing laws.
Officials said the move aims to protect consumers and ensure stability in local markets. The ministry added that it will continue monitoring prices and take legal action against any violations to prevent exploitation.
