Dangote Petroleum Refinery has revised its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to ₦1,175 per litre, prompting depot operators to temporarily suspend sales while adjusting to the new pricing.
The refinery had earlier reduced the petrol price by ₦100 to ₦1,075 per litre on March 10, 2026, down from the previous ₦1,175 per litre.
Following the earlier reduction, several depot operators had begun selling the product at an average price of about ₦1,100 per litre.
However, the latest price adjustment forced many operators to halt transactions temporarily to review their stock levels and pricing structure.
The refinery also suspended loading operations briefly as part of efforts to reconcile inventory and implement the revised pricing framework.
Industry sources say the adjustment is linked to rising global crude oil prices.
Benchmark Brent crude oil has recently climbed from about $91 to $100 per barrel, increasing the cost of refining petroleum products.
The price movement highlights how fluctuations in global oil markets continue to influence domestic fuel pricing in Nigeria.
