
A thief reportedly stole a mobile phone belonging to Amobi Ogah, member representing Umunneochi/Isuikwuato Federal Constituency, during a state funeral in Umuahia, Abia State.
The incident occurred on Thursday at the International Conference Centre (ICC), where the state government held a burial ceremony for the late Evangelist Rev Uma Ukpai.
Reports indicated that the thief blended into the crowd and bypassed tight security to carry out the theft.
Video footage from the event showed Ogah engaged in greetings with attendees when the suspect quietly took the phone and vanished into the crowd.
No injuries were reported during the incident, and the thief’s identity remains unknown.
Ogah has appealed to the public for assistance in locating the suspect, urging anyone with credible information to come forward.
The lawmaker announced a reward of N500,000 for information leading to the arrest of the individual responsible.
