Ogun Police Strengthen Security Agency Collaboration

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, has held a series of strategic meetings with key security agencies in the state to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and improve coordinated responses to security challenges.

The engagements, which took place on April 21, were disclosed in a statement released Tuesday via the official platform of the Ogun State Police Command. They involved visits to the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

According to the command, the meetings focused on enhancing intelligence sharing, strengthening joint operations, and improving coordinated responses to emerging security threats across the state.

During discussions at the Nigerian Army’s 35 Artillery Brigade in Abeokuta, police and military authorities reviewed existing security arrangements and explored ways to expand joint patrols and improve rapid-response mechanisms.

At the DSS office, both agencies emphasised the need to deepen intelligence gathering and early warning strategies aimed at preventing security breaches.

Talks with the Nigeria Immigration Service centred on border security, including efforts to curb illegal migration, smuggling, and other cross-border crimes affecting the state.

Engagements with the NSCDC focused on protecting critical infrastructure and strengthening collaboration during emergencies and public disturbances.

Ojajuni said effective policing depends on strong institutional partnerships, noting that sustained cooperation among security agencies remains essential to maintaining peace and safeguarding lives and property in Ogun State.
