FRSC Deploys 950 Personnel for Eid-El-Kabir Patrol

The Federal Road Safety Corps in Kwara State has advised motorists to exercise caution and obey traffic regulations during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The command said it has deployed 950 personnel across the state to ensure safety and maintain smooth traffic flow throughout the festive period.

According to a statement issued by the command’s Public Education Officer, Basambo Busari, the deployment includes regular officers, marshals, special marshals, and first responders.

The command also deployed 16 patrol vehicles, four ambulances, and a 70-tonne tow truck to monitor highways and respond to emergencies during the celebrations.

Busari said the Sector Commander, Kabiru Kazeem, had directed personnel to strategic locations within Ilorin and other major towns as part of the Eid-el-Kabir special patrol scheduled from May 21 to 25, 2026.

He quoted the sector commander as urging road users to strictly comply with traffic laws to prevent accidents and ensure safer journeys during the holiday.

Motorists were specifically warned against offences such as overloading, dangerous driving, wrongful overtaking, and excessive speeding.

Other violations targeted for enforcement include the use of mobile phones while driving, expired or substandard tyres, lane indiscipline, mixed loading of goods and passengers, failure to use seat belts, and non-compliance with passengers’ manifest regulations.
