Israel Airstrikes Hit Hezbollah Sites in Beirut

The Israeli Air Force said it carried out fresh airstrikes targeting facilities linked to Hezbollah in Beirut, as tensions continue to escalate across the Middle East.

In a statement posted on its official X account, the air force said several waves of strikes were launched against what it described as Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut and southern Lebanon.

According to the military, the attacks destroyed headquarters and facilities allegedly used by the group to coordinate and plan operations against Israel.

The strikes are part of a broader campaign under an operation known as Operation Roar of the Lion, which the Israel Defense Forces said aims to weaken Hezbollah’s command network.

Israeli authorities said the operation is focused on dismantling the group’s command centres, disrupting financial networks and destroying weapons stockpiles believed to support its military activities.

The military also accused Hezbollah of placing operational infrastructure within densely populated civilian areas across Lebanon.

According to the IDF, evacuation warnings were issued to residents in some targeted locations before the strikes to reduce the risk of civilian casualties.

Officials added that the operations involved the use of precision-guided munitions, aerial surveillance and advance alerts to limit harm to civilians.

Israel said it would continue military operations against Hezbollah, accusing the group of entering the conflict with support from Iran and posing a security threat to communities in northern Israel.
