Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, has arrived in Islamabad to participate in a quadrilateral ministerial meeting focused on regional security developments and efforts to ease tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel with Iran.
In a statement posted on X, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the meeting would bring together representatives from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt and Turkey to coordinate positions and address emerging regional security challenges.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the talks are part of ongoing consultations among the four countries aimed at reviewing developments across the region and exploring ways to strengthen stability.
The meeting comes amid intensified diplomatic efforts to contain the conflict, with no direct negotiations between Washington and Tehran officially confirmed.
Pakistan has recently taken on a mediation role in the crisis, relaying messages between the United States and Iran and offering to host dialogue aimed at de-escalating tensions.
The development follows reports that the United States and Israel carried out airstrikes on Iran on February 28, an incident that reportedly resulted in the deaths of senior Iranian officials, including the country’s Supreme Leader. However, details surrounding the strike and its consequences remain part of ongoing international developments.
