Tinubu Praises Wike for Abuja Transformation

President Bola Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for what he described as his effective performance in transforming Abuja and delivering key infrastructure projects.

Speaking on Wednesday during the inauguration of the Federal High Court Judges’ Quarters in Katampe, Abuja, Tinubu said Wike had lived up to expectations since being entrusted with the responsibility of improving the nation’s capital.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President said Wike had demonstrated competence through the execution of critical road projects and the timely completion of major infrastructure initiatives.

“When I gave Wike the assignment to transform Abuja into a world-class city, I knew he had the capacity to deliver. From fixing critical road networks to ensuring the timely completion of projects like these judges’ quarters, he has proven that performance is the only currency that matters in public service,” Tinubu said.

The President described the newly inaugurated housing project as a significant step toward strengthening the judiciary and promoting judicial independence.

According to him, the project aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to build stronger institutions, uphold the rule of law, and improve the welfare of public servants.

Tinubu noted that judicial independence goes beyond constitutional guarantees and requires a secure and conducive environment for judges to carry out their responsibilities without fear or external influence.

He also praised the judiciary for its cooperation with the executive arm of government, describing the relationship as a positive example of collaboration in the national interest.

Addressing the judges who will occupy the quarters, the President urged them to continue delivering justice fairly and impartially, stressing that the success of Nigeria’s democracy depends largely on a strong and independent judiciary.

The inauguration of the judges’ quarters forms part of projects commissioned by the Federal Government to mark the third anniversary of the Tinubu administration.
