The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has expressed grief over the death of the Khalifatul Adabiyyah Worldwide, Alhaji Abdulqodir Kamaludeen Al-Adaby.
Al-Adaby, the eldest surviving son of the late Sheikh Muhammad Kamaludeen Al-Adaby, the first Grand Mufti of Ilorin, died in Ilorin on Friday shortly before the Jumu’ah prayer.
In a condolence message issued through his spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir described the death as a major loss to the Ilorin Emirate and the wider Muslim community.
He said the late Islamic leader made significant contributions to religious and community development during his lifetime.
The Emir also condoled with the family of Alhaji Alabi Jagunmo, father of the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), Alhaji Uthman Jagunmo, who also passed away.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari said the two deaths were painful losses for the Ilorin Emirate, adding that the community remains submissive to the will of Almighty Allah.
He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased, asking for forgiveness of their shortcomings and for both men to be granted Al-Jannah Firdaus.
