Kebbi Governor Inspects Flood-Damaged Roads in Dandi

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris on Thursday visited Dandi Local Government Area to assess roads damaged by recent heavy rainfall in the area.

The inspection focused on the Kingakwai–Fana–Dakingari Road and the Fana Township Road, both of which serve as major links between Fana town and neighbouring communities.

A statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, said the governor was briefed on the extent of the damage during the visit.

The member representing the area in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Suleiman Fana, alongside the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruk, reportedly explained the impact of the rainfall on the affected roads and surrounding infrastructure.

According to the statement, the Commissioner for Works recommended the construction of additional culverts and other engineering structures to repair the damaged roads and reduce the risk of future erosion.

Governor Idris, who was accompanied by Ambassador Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari and other government officials, inspected the affected locations during the visit.

He assured residents that the state government would take prompt action to address the damage and restore access to the affected communities.

The recent rainfall has caused concern in parts of Kebbi State, with residents calling for improved drainage and stronger infrastructure to prevent recurring flood-related damage.
